today’s world image is everything. Everyone talks about the next and latest fashions that are yet to come out. Whether it be the new high price Coach bag or the most expensive pair of Calvin Klein
jeans (that are just due out anytime!!!). People today like they way things are presented to them. They like things that are
eye-catching and noticeable.
Marketing
and selling are the two main things a business runs on. In order to sell the product you must put it out there and what better
way to sell a product then to put a familiar face on that product. Most businesses make an enormous amount of money due to
the publicity they put out. Some celebrities and models sign contracts with major clothing companies so that they will sell
their product. They figure if the celebrity is wearing it and is making it look cool than any other person can do the same.
But, if society tells us to look and dress like a celebrity does that leave any room for individuality? There’s always
models selling a product in a magazine or a billboard telling the consumer to be unique to “be yourself” but if
they are presenting a product and want us to buy it because it will make you look different is that still being an individual
considering it’s applying to everyone else?
I
can see why these businesses make so much money because as a person who buys what looks appealing, it really leaves a first
good feeling knowing you look absolutely fantastic in the new outfit you bought right off the manikin. Then there are others
that just don’t bother with the latest fashion. Its not that they don’t care it’s basically because knowing
your following a popular trend is “too outdated”. Some just think that making yourself up to be just another trend
setter is phony.

is no better way to sell a product then to simply put a familiar face on that product. Most businesses make an enormous amount

It
is actually very simple to see why these businesses make are able to make so much money because there will always be people
who will buy what looks appealing, it really leaves a first good feeling knowing you look absolutely fantastic in the new
outfit you bought right off the manikin. Then there are the other people, the ones who just don’t want to even bother
trying to keep up with the latest fashion. Its not that they don’t care it’s basically because knowing your following
a popular trend is “too outdated”. Some just think that making yourself up to be just another trend setter is
phony. So basically you should listen to yourself and not to what the magazines,
mtv, and the internet tell you. Make decisions for yourself.
